The ability to create content that can be easily and cost-effectively reused, updated, customized, translated, published to multiple output formats, and automated is not a “nice-to-have” feature any more. It’s critical to delivering product content to your customers in the right way at the right time.

However, when it comes to content authoring, publishing, and management, there is often a trade-off between simplicity and features. Simple, easy-to-use tools may lack powerful features, while full-featured products may be too complicated.

Join Tom Magliery of JustSystems, the makers of XMetaL XML Editor, and Alex Masycheff of Intuillion, the makers of DITAToo DITA CMS to see how a content authoring, management, and publishing solution can be simple, powerful, and affordable at the same time.

You’ll see how to:

  • Instantly and automatically convert your legacy documentation from MS Word
  • Move and rename files and folders while all links are updated automatically
  • Create and update content without having to deal with the complexity of the content model
  • Automatically find potentially reusable content and replace it with reusable components
  • Reuse entire projects
  • Publish to multiple formats
  • Collaborate with your team members

… and much more.

DITA can bring substantial benefits to your content process thanks to powerful content reuse, content personalization, and publishing capabilities. However, moving to DITA forces you to move to new authoring tools. Too often, the need to learn DITA elements and get used to the whole new paradigm becomes an obstacle that may bury the whole initiative of moving to DITA.

Join Doug Gorman of Simply XML, the makers of Content Mapper, and Alex Masycheff of Intuillion, the makers of DITAToo DITA CMS at a free webinar to find out how you can author, manage, and publish DITA while staying in MS Word. We are going to show how you can get the best of two worlds: on one hand, you’ll get all amazing possibilities available to you when you use DITA. On the other hand, you won’t be forced to leave the MS Word’s environment that you got used to. And you might not even know that you are using DITA because the ugly but useful DITA XML is “under the covers.”

That’s not all! You’ll also see the whole new world of automation opportunities that structured content opens to you. In addition to authoring, managing, and publishing capabilities, we’ll show you how content can be automatically assembled and generated all without leaving MS Word. Just think about it: wouldn’t it be great if you could write a troubleshooting procedure in MS Word and then just with a couple of clicks get an automatically generated flowchart representing the troubleshooting process visually?

Join us and you’ll see how it’s possible.

Together with our European partner iDTP, we are conducting a free webinar on team collaboration.

We’ll emulate a situation when different people with different roles contribute to the content process. Wim Hooghwinkel of iDTP will be in the their office in The Netherlands, I will be in ours in Israel. Wim will play the role of an engineer, graphic designer, and reviewer. I’ll be a technical writer.

Each of us will use different tools (MS Word, Visio, oXygen) while working with the real central content repository.

It’ll be fun! Join us.
June 8-9, 2016

On June 9, 2016 in Utrecht, The Netherlands, Alex Masycheff, the CEO of Intuillion, will be speaking about how structured content lets you automate manual work and create a new value from your content.

Alex will present the content automation platform that lets you build applications for automated document assembly and content generation. You’ll see several ready-to-use applications in action:

  • Automated assembly of entire documentation sets based on a bill of materials (or a similar document)
  • Automated generation of process diagrams from textual descriptions (e.g., for troubleshooting)
  • Automated generation of project/product requirements documents, summaries, and breakdowns from individual topics
  • Automated generation of the programming code for software and hardware (especially, for companies in the semiconductor industry) from the documentation
  • Automated generation of reference documentation by integrating data from external sources into product documentation

At the conference, you can learn from internationally recognized information specialists about new developments, thoughts and opportunity’s that will reflect your daily work. But that’s not all. You can meet peers to share experiences and exchange best practices with. Solution providers and tool vendors are available to propose how they can help you getting your work done. And we make sure there will be lots of time to talk, listen, ask, discuss and make fun!

April 4-6, 2016

On April 4-6, 2016 in Reston, Virginia, we are exhibiting and presenting at the 18th annual Content Management Strategies/DITA North America Conference.

Alex Masycheff, the CEO of Intuillion will be talking about how DITA can help you automate document assembly and content generation. The semantic markup that DITA opens virtually unlimited possibilities for content manipulation and automation. Content enriched with a semantic markup can be manipulated as if it were data in a database. Because automation is also about saving company’s money, understanding the automation potential might help you sell DITA to your management and even expand DITA adoption beyond the technical publication department.

Alex will be also co-presenting with Lisa Pampuch of Netgear, Inc. The “start small, think big approach” that Lisa’s team took to moving to a DITA authoring environment should be very helpful to other companies who are thinking about moving to DITA but are worried about an “all-at-once” approach.

At the conference, you’ll be able to engage with a community of people who believe that international standards, structured content, reuse capabilities, and multiple media delivery are the directions of the future.

Meet publications professionals who have implemented content management strategies and the OASIS DITA standard in their organizations. Learn strategies for content management, taxonomy, faceted search, translation, social media, agile workflow, DITA, Lightweight DITA and a whole lot more! Hear from key tools developers who are actively supporting the standards-based community.

Chicago city urban skyline panorama

On April 20-22, 2015 in Chicago, we are exhibiting and presenting at the CMS/DITA North America conference, the premier content management event of the year.

Alex Masycheff, the CEO of Intuillion, is going to talk about an aspect of DITA that is not widely being discussed yet: an ability to automate content aggregation and document assembly. He’ll present a case study of a solution that we have built for ourselves to manage requirements for the DITAToo development and our custom projects. You’ll see how pieces of content written by different people from different perspectives (managers, developers, and QA team members) are automatically integrated and assembled into new contexts and how new documents are generated automatically.

Come for the community, experience new insights, and leave with a wealth of new ideas that help you reap the benefits of managing content in your organization. In its 17th successful year, CMS/DITA North America is the premier conference for everyone who manages technical and business content in both small departments and huge global enterprises.
